INSTALLATION: When installing the Video Webcaster sq1 for the first time you must e-mail the Transmission Code for registration. E-mail that Transmission Code to support@vidnet.tv You will receive a Registration Code that will unlock the Video Webcaster for your computer.

What is a video mail?
A video mail is just that: You sit in front of your webcam with a microphone, record a message, add your destination @ click "Send" and your vision and audio are sent.

Prepare your hardware
Before you press record, there are four things you need to check:
1. Position yourself directly in front of the camera, centered in the frame. Place the camera at eye level so you're not looking up or down at the camera. Make sure your head or chin are in the frame.
2. Make sure you have enough light. There's a balance between the picture being too dark and too bright. Adjust the light sources in the room, the more light the better.
3. Make sure your audio levels and microphone levels work and that the levels aren't too low or high.

ABOUT on the Video Webcaster sq1 has many adjustable "Settings" for Audio Format, Compression Options, Video Format, Video Source and Video Length, whether 30, 60 seconds or limitless. These settings are rarely used as the Video Webcaster, when installed, automatically selects the best options for superior operation. When first installing check to make sure the Video Format (screen size) is set to: Resolution 178 x 144. Pixel Depth (bits) and Compression is RGB 24 and Size (bytes) is 76032. You can alter these settings manually. A word about Audio. When you have plugged in your microphone make sure to adjust audio properties and unmute the microphone volume control. My Computer>Control Panel>Multimedia>Audio then double click Recording. You will then see Microphone then click off mute so your mic will work.

Want to make a video and use it for a web site or a PowerPoint presentation? Easy! Here's how.

Make the video as normal, Record, Stop, Play then when you're happy with the video click Digitize. (Video Digitize successful) OK, now you don't want to E-mail it to anyone but to use the video for another purpose. No problems. Go to Windows Explorer to Program files to Video Webcaster. Open the Video Webcaster file and find "Capture" file at the top. Open Capture file and there you will see two video files which you have made in two formats, an .avi and an .mpeg both named "Movie". Choose the .mpeg file and by clicking on the file name (Movie) you can rename the file for your identification. Next, drag the file to the Desktop and use it for your own program.
